A fashionable gold nail bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The square head nail design has been replicated by Gucci since the 1960's and has its origins in the equestrian world, being modeled after the nails used to hold the horses shoe in place. This fantastic piece is made of vibrant 14kt yellow gold and depicts a square head nail that curls around your wrist, forming a striking gold bangle. The front of the piece holds a row of three sparkling mine cut diamonds (H/I color SI 1-2 clarity) that weigh .75ctw, each held within a square shaped setting. The bracelet weighs 14.6 grams and the clasp is hidden within the band and can be found on the side of the hinged bracelet. On the inside of the bracelet are the markings "PAT. JAN 28.08", the letter "F" inside a shield, and "14K" and engraved initials BAM. A classic piece that translates perfectly into a modern day fashion, it could be worn alone or stacked with other bracelets!
Measurements: The opening, where a wrist would rest, measures approximately 2 5/8" wide and 2 1/8" tall. The band is approximately 1/8" thick, and the surface of the bracelet measures 3/16" wide at the back and 5/8" wide at the head of the nail.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. The gold displays minimal surface wear normal for a piece from the Victorian era, and the diamonds are all intact. Both the clasp and hinge are secure and in good working condition.
